It is not easy to remain indifferent when faced with the magical
charm of Salerno and its surroundings: arts, natural landscapes and
hospitality make these places unique. Salerno offers access to
numerous tourist sites: the archaeological city of Paestum, the
Arechi Castle, besieged by Charlemagne for years and yet never
conquered; Pompei and Herculaneum are just a stone-throw away.
Salerno is also famous for its gulf: to the North, sheer above the
sea and strewn with small beaches is the Amalfitan Coast, while to
the South the coast becomes less indented but not less charming.
With their mythology and night-time goings on, Amalfi, Palinuro,
Positano and, of course, Capri capture the spirit. Salerno means sun
sea discos, night life: but perhaps you would prefer to laze under
the palms to the idyllic promenade, to watch the sun go down . |
