TUSCANY:
Viareggio
is a small town situated in Tuscany, near Pisa and Florence. Viareggio
is a famous seaside. Near Viareggio is Torre del Lago Puccini, where Giacomo
Puccini lived and wrote his famous "Opera" , Tosca,
Bohème,
Butterfly, Turandot. You can visit in Torre del Lago Puccini the family
house of the great composer and the museum about him.
Viareggio is famous in the world for the construction of boats and yachts,
too. But much more this nice town is famous for its wonderful
Carnival.
Formed around the 12th Century, originally as a fishing village,
today Viareggio, gem of Versilia,
is an important port, whose dockyards build very prestigious yachts.
Along the promenade several are the 'bars', shops and restaurants
available to tourists both in summer and winter.
Thanks to its numerous palaces in the Liberty
Style this town, famous not only as a seaside resort, but also
the floats parade held during Carnival time (February/March),
acquires a special appeal.
