Charles Wessolowsky, Reflections of southern Jewry: The Letters of
Charles Wessolowsky, 1878-1879. Book Description: This is a
collection of letters written by Charles Wessolowsky in 1878-1879 while
Wessolowsky was touring the South as a representative of both the
"Jewish South" newspaper and of B'nai B'rith. The letters were his
"reports" to his senior editor in Atlanta. The letters offer a glimpse
of the Jewish experience in the South, a view of a number of Jewish
communities whose history heretofore has been mostly forgotten. Included
are footnotes, appendices, and an index.
