HONEY BAKED
APPLES (ROSH HASHANAH)

Serves 6. Parve
|
INGREDIENTS:
|
2 lbs. baking apples
1 cup honey, warmed
1/4 cup orange juice
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
|
|
DIRECTIONS:
|
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Wash, dry and core the apples.
- Cut them into quarters and place them in a
baking dish, large enough to fit all the apples.
- Mix the honey, orange and lemon juices, and
nutmeg in a separate bowl. Pour the liquid mixture over the
apple slices.
- Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes, basting a
few times during the baking.
