There are about 50 people in the Jewish Community of Bahrain, with
Minyanim in special Jewish Holidays and Occasions. They Bahraini Synagogue
is located at the Sasa'ah Avenue, Manama, Bahrain.
Ebrahim Dahood Nonoo is the head of bahrain's Jewish Community
(2020).
Houda Nonoo and
Nancy
Khedouri served as the Bahraini Ambassadors to the United
States. The Synagogue established in 1935 with funds from the
Cartier family and was burnt during the
Manama Riots in 1947, in reaction to the
1947 U.N Partition Vote.. The community pillars invested
during the 1980's and later in renovating the synagogue. Now,
with the Normalization agreements between Israel and Bahrain,
and with the Abraham Accords that was signed with the United Arab
Emirates, there is a great hope for the
revival of Jewish Life in Bahrain. Here is
The Abraham Accords Peace Agreement: Treaty of Peace,
Diplomatic Relations and Full Normalization Between the United
Arab Emirates and the State of Israel - The White House,
Issued on: September 15, 2020. On that day,
Jared Kushner gives Torah scroll to the King of Bahrain -
after King of Bahrain tells Trump local Jews have a wonderful
synagogue but no kosher Torah scroll. (Sep 15, 2020). |
