ABRIL’S PLUM STRUDEL |
| INGREDIENTS: |
|
· 2 cups Flour, white (sifted)
· ½ cup Sugar
· 4 Tbs. “PARVE” USA margarine,
cut into ½″ cubes - chilled
· 1½ tsp. Baking Powder
· ½ tsp. Kosher Salt
· 3 Eggs, lightly beaten
· 1 cup Walnuts
· 1 Plum Preserves, 12-oz. jar

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.
Preheat oven to 375°F .
2.
Process flour, ¼ cup sugar, PARVE
margarine, baking powder, and salt
in a food processor until
small-size crumbles form.
3. Add
2 eggs and ¼ cup ice-cold water.
4.
Pulse until dough forms.
5.
Remove from food processor and
form into a disk shape.
6.
Wrap.
7.
Chill for 1 hour.
8.
Finely chop remaining sugar and
walnuts in a food processor.
9. Set
aside.
10.
Puree the preserves in a food
processor.
11. Cut
dough into thirds.
12.
Roll each into an 11″ × 7″
rectangle.
13.
Line an 11″ × 7″ baking dish with
a rectangle.
14.
Spread over half the preserves.
15.
Sprinkle with one-third walnuts.
16. Top
with second rectangle.
17.
Spread over remaining preserves
and half remaining walnuts.
18. Top
with last rectangle.
19.
Prick with tines of a fork.
20.
Brush with remaining egg.
21.
Sprinkle with remaining walnuts.
22.
Bake until golden ~25–30 minutes.
YIELDS:
8- 12 servings.
