SHALOM'S
SESAME and HONEY SWEETS (Melekouni)

INGREDIENTS: |

12 oz Sesame
Seeds
-
8 oz Thick
Greek Honey
|
|
INSTRUCTIONS: |
-
Pre-heat the oven
to 350°F.
-
Spread the sesame
seeds on a baking tray and for 5 minutes,
stirring occasionally.

Place the honey in
a saucepan and bring to the boil, over moderate
heat until it begins to foam.
-
Remove from the
heat and add the sesame seeds.
-
Cook gently for
2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
-
Lightly oil a
marble/granite or similar surface.
-
Pour the hot
mixture on the surface and shape with a dampened
spatula.
-
Allow to cool
slightly, cut the into diamonds, squares or
bars, using a knife dipped in hot water.
-
Allow to fully
cool and store in a cool, dry place.
