TU BISHVAT SALAD SERVES

INGREDIENTS: |
1 Orange, peeled and cut into round
slices
1 Avocado, sliced
1 endive, separated
1 bunch watercress
½ head romaine lettuce
2 pitted dates, diced small
Seeds of ¼ pomegranate or ¼ cup cranberries |
DIRECTIONS: |
- Combine all ingredients in a salad bowl.
- Just before serving, mix in salad dressing. Toss 15 times (in
honor of the 15 different kinds of fruits and nuts eaten on the
fifteenth of Shevat).

SALAD DRESSING: |
INGREDIENTS: |
2 tablespoons balsamic or red wine
vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed
Dash of salt
Dash of sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Freshly ground pepper to taste
5 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil |
DIRECTIONS: |
- Combine all ingredients except oil.
- Slowly whisk in oil and pour over salad.
