PASSOVER ORANGE CHAROSET |

INGREDIENTS: |
|
|
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts
- 2-3 tbs. sugar
- 1 apple, large, peeled, halved and cored
- 3/4 cup dates, pitted, whole, chopped, KP
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, ground, KP
- 3-4 tbs. orange juice, fresh
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract, KP
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper, freshly ground.

DIRECTIONS:

|
|
- Place nuts on a cookie sheet and roast until just toasted - Not
Burned!
- Allow nuts to cool.
- Grind toasted walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts with sugar.
- Be careful not to process completely until powder-fine.
- A slightly chunky texture is more desirable.
- Transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Coarsely grate apple.
- Add to nut mixture.
- Stir in dates, cinnamon, wine, 2 tbs. orange juice and vanilla.
- Mix thoroughly, adding more orange juice if necessary to make the
mixture hold together.
- Add pepper and more sugar to taste
- Chill and serve cold.
