Carmel
School of Hong Kong, East
Asia's only Jewish Day School. Committed to providing the highest International
standard of secular and Jewish Education.
Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and
Colleges.
Founded in 1991, Carmel
School was established in Hong Kong as East Asia's first Jewish day school.
It has expanded from a playgroup with a dozen toddlers into one of the
territory's most respected international schools, with some 250 students of up
to middle school age. Our reputation is founded on secular academic excellence,
a vibrant Jewish Studies program and a warm, supportive environment
characterized by respect for the individual and tolerance. Carmel students come
from a rich mix of international backgrounds. Most are from Britain, Canada,
Hong Kong, Israel, South Africa and the United States, with a wide number of
other countries also represented. Religious backgrounds range from secular to
traditionally observant. Academically, Carmel follows a U.S.-style curriculum.
Religiously, it adheres to Modern Orthodox principles.
