"CANDLE" SALAD - A FRUIT DISH OR DESSERT

INGREDIENTS:
  • Bananas
  • Canned pineapple rings
  • Lettuce
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Mayonnaise, whipping cream (pareve for meat), or Creamy Mayonnaise (Whip ˝ cup cream and fold into 1 cup mayonnaise)
DIRECTIONS:
Select straight rather than curved bananas. For each serving, place 1 or 2 pineapple rings on a ruffle of lettuce as a base. For the candle, insert half a peeled banana in the center of the pineapple. (To prevent the bananas from darkening, dip them into pineapple or lemon juice before assembling.) Mayonnaise, whipped cream, or creamy mayonnaise may be drizzled down the banana to simulate wax dripping down the side of the candle. With a toothpick, affix a red cherry atop each.

BON APPÉTIT!

!בתאבון
